Track Star (“Track Star,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information when you access or use the Track Star website, applications, and related products and services (collectively, the “Service”).
Track Star is operated by Public Opinion Corporation.
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information in the following ways.
Information You Provide to Us
When you create an account, build a profile, contribute to Albums, submit Picks to Lists, interact with other members, contact us, or otherwise use the Service, you may provide information including:
- Display name
- Username
- Email address
- Profile information, including your bio, your location, and your Instagram handle
- An optional birth year (year only). We use it to understand our audience, and we do not display it on your profile or anywhere else in the Service
- Album Ratings
- Reviews, Review replies, Picks submitted to Lists, and Standout tracks
- Saved Albums, Review likes, Follows, and other interactions with members or content
- Communications you send to us
- Any other information you choose to provide
Track Star does not use passwords. We sign you in with a single-use link sent to your email address, so we never collect or store a password for your account.
Some information you submit, including your username, profile, Ratings, Reviews, Picks, Review likes, and other activity, may be visible to other members or the public depending on the features and settings of the Service.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information about your device and activity, such as:
- IP address
- Browser and device type
- Operating system
- Device identifiers
- Pages or screens viewed
- Links or features used
- Dates and times of access
- Referring URLs
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Information about your interactions with the Service
- Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Service.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from the services that help us operate Track Star: Railway for hosting and database infrastructure, Resend for email delivery, Cloudflare for security and content delivery, Sentry for error monitoring, Adobe Fonts for web font delivery, and Apple’s iTunes Search API for Album, Artist, and track metadata.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Track Star
- Create and manage user accounts and profiles
- Display your Ratings, Reviews, Picks, and other public activity
- Allow members to discover Albums, Artists, and other members
- Personalize your experience and recommendations
- Understand how users interact with Track Star
- Develop new products, features, and functionality
- Communicate with you about your account or the Service
- Send you news and updates about Track Star if you ask us to. This is optional, and you can leave that list at any time
- Respond to questions, requests, and feedback
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Moderate content and enforce our policies
- Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of Track Star, our users, and others
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
- Carry out other purposes disclosed to you when information is collected
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics, product development, business, and other purposes.
3. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, cloud infrastructure, database management, email delivery, analytics, security, communications, and technical support.
Other Users and the Public
Track Star is a social music platform. Information you choose to make part of your profile or submit through public-facing features may be visible to other members and, in some cases, anyone on the internet.
This may include your username, profile information, Ratings, Reviews, Picks, Review likes, and other public activity.
Please consider this when deciding what information to share.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements
- Investigate suspected fraud, security issues, or illegal activity
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Track Star, our users, or others
Business Transfers
If Track Star or Public Opinion Corporation is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
With Your Direction or Consent
We may disclose information to other parties when you direct us to do so or otherwise provide your consent.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, maintain sessions, understand usage, measure performance, prevent fraud, and improve the Service.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Some features of Track Star may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional choices regarding non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Do Not Track. Track Star does not respond to Do Not Track signals sent by your browser.
5. Third-Party Services and Music Information
Track Star may display or link to information, artwork, music metadata, streaming services, websites, or other materials provided by third parties.
Your interaction with third-party services is governed by those parties’ own terms and privacy policies. Track Star is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect the Service, and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
The length of time we retain information may vary depending on the type of information and why we collected it.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
However, no website, network, database, or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You use the Service and provide information at your own risk.
Because we sign you in with a link sent to your email address, access to that email account is access to your Track Star account. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.
8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:
- Request access to personal information we maintain about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Obtain a copy of certain personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of certain uses or disclosures where applicable
These rights vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.
You can update your profile information in Settings at any time. You can also delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, your Ratings, your Reviews, and your other activity from the Service.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
9. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state law.
Depending on your state of residence and our processing activities, these rights may include rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and to opt out of certain forms of targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling.
We will honor applicable privacy rights as required by law.
10. Children
Track Star is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at dmca@publicopinion.nyc, and we will take appropriate steps to address the information.
Additional age restrictions may apply to particular features or jurisdictions.
11. International Users
If you access Track Star from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence.
Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Service or by other appropriate means.
Your continued use of Track Star after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective is subject to the updated policy.
