10/10 — Arguably the greatest hip-hop album of all time. A dark, flawless masterpiece that still sounds as powerful today as it did when it was released. The Infamous is one of those rare albums where everything just works. The production, the atmosphere, the lyrics, the chemistry between Havoc and Prodigy — it all comes together perfectly. It’s dark, gritty, raw, and unapologetically real, but there’s also something incredibly hypnotic about the entire record. What I love most about this album is the atmosphere. From the opening seconds, you’re dropped straight into the streets of Queensbridge. Havoc’s production creates this cold, haunting backdrop that somehow makes every verse hit harder. Prodigy and Havoc sound completely locked in, trading verses and painting a picture of their world without ever feeling like they’re trying too hard. And the consistency is unbelievable. “Shook Ones Pt. II” is obviously one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever made, but it doesn’t even feel like the album’s only masterpiece. “Survival of the Fittest,” “Eye for a Eye,” “Temperature’s Rising,” “Up North Trip,” and “Cradle to the Grave” are all incredible, and the album somehow maintains that same dark, tense energy from beginning to end. This is also an album that gets better the more you listen to it. There are layers in the production and lyrics that reveal themselves over time, and the chemistry between Prodigy and Havoc is something that’s incredibly difficult to replicate. It feels authentic in a way that very few albums ever have. For me, The Infamous belongs in the conversation for the greatest hip-hop album ever made. It’s one of those records that doesn’t just represent a particular era of hip-hop — it defines it. Nearly 30 years later, it still sounds dangerous, fresh, and completely unique. 10/10 — a flawless hip-hop classic and one of the greatest albums ever made. An album I can put on anytime, front to back, and never feel the need to skip a track.
