Old enough to remember how cassettes from friends were the introduction to new music. Young enough to still care about music ( and artists getting paid a living without have to tour 24/7)

An album so good that sitting in a (female) clothes shop waiting.. when i heard this playing, i was so impressed i asked the “cooler than thou” assistant “who’s this” , knowing eyes would be rolled and the tutting would be loud.. my introduction to hip hop

FuneralArcade Fire

One of the few records that i heard once and thought “ let me hear more”

Standout tracks
  1. 1Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)4:48
  2. 3Une année sans lumière3:40
  3. 6Crown of Love4:42
BlemishDavid Sylvian

The first time i heard this i thought it was damaged or the (at the time) CD was damaged. On repeated hearing i realised that is the point “blemished” . about how a relationship falls apart and ends in divorce. The most difficult of Davids work. He is up there with Cohn in his art form. Check out Dead bees on a cake or any of the other albums for more accessible music

Standout tracks
  1. 3The Only Daughter5:28
  2. 8A Fire In the Forest4:14
