High As Hope

Florence has been with me for a number of years. And I finally got to see her live 2026. She’s so great!

i have been listening to florence and the machine since day one and somehow when this album came out it was like looking at a complete different florence. it felt quieter and more intimate than how big, how blue, how beautiful, but as always, still grandiose. i feel like all of her albums are confessions coming out from her gut, and she needs to scream because they are all so intense. but then when she starts to sing "and it's hard to write about being happy cause the older i get i find that happiness is an extremely uneventful subject"... just simple. the loudest confession, being sang so simply.
