Vol.II

8.5/10 — A real step forward from Vol. 1, and a more ambitious, structured, and musically satisfying record. If Vol. 1 was the introduction, Vol. 2 feels like the statement. It takes everything that made the first volume so creative, raw, weird, and entertaining and turns the dial up without losing what made it special in the first place. What really stands out to me is the progression. Vol. 2 feels more focused and intentional. There’s more structure to the songs, more going on musically, and a much stronger sense that these ideas have been developed rather than simply thrown against the wall to see what sticks. The result is an album that gives me a lot more to dig into. And that’s probably what I like most about it: it feels like a genuine evolution. This isn’t just Vol. 1 with a different tracklist. It takes the foundation of the first record and builds something bigger and more interesting on top of it. There’s still plenty of that raw, unpredictable energy that made the first volume so much fun, but now there’s a musicality underneath it that really grabs me. I find myself listening more closely, going back to certain tracks, and appreciating how much more layered the whole project feels. For me, this is where Angine de Poitrine starts to become more than an interesting experiment. There’s a real artistic identity developing here, and Vol. 2 makes me genuinely curious about where they can take it next. 8.5/10 — a significant step up from Vol. 1. More focused, more ambitious, more musically stimulating, and ultimately more rewarding. If Vol. 1 was the introduction, Vol. 2 is the record that convinced me there’s something really special happening here.

whaa?! these guys are mind-blowing. experimental chaotic rock ... some describe it as math rock, but that feels too limiting. long songs that build until you're laughing how crazy and pretty awesome it is.
