this album is classic. acid jazz. super cool hip hop, smooth rapping by guru ... some female vocals ... infused with jazz musicians. this album helped introduce me to jazz sounds and helped push me into exploring jazz as a whole.
hard to describe the genre -- an original, eclectic blend of rock, funk, soul, world influenced. groovy but refined music. give it a little time and it's addicting. great music for vinyl. i have all their albums but this is the one that i started on so gotta give it the edge.
very cool blend of hip hop, jazz, trip hop, lo-fi, some instrumental. i stumbled onto it, read about Nujabes and was suprised to learn about how respected he is.
instrumental, guitar-playing brothers, with latin rhythms and style. this album is the type that you just put on and let it run to set a mood. some songs make you feel like you're in an old western. this band is always in my rotation.
oh man gotta love helado negro. mostly chill electronic/pop, latin flavor. watch his tiny desk to get hooked. he's a vibe. good songs on other albums too, but this one's the best IMO.
whaa?! these guys are mind-blowing. experimental chaotic rock ... some describe it as math rock, but that feels too limiting. long songs that build until you're laughing how crazy and pretty awesome it is.
