I grew up on classic rock. I love Prog rock, Jazz, Fusion, Americana. That’s just the start. There is Metal, Hardcore, Blues, Classical Basically I like all genres of music.
To me, this is a terrific TD album. I’m not sure it would show up on many “best of” lists. TD, if you’re not aware, is an electronic group that could be the beginning of Ambient music. I’ve always felt that they kind of take the synthesizer parts of Pink Floyd and expand those parts into the stratosphere. Not that they sound like PF but if you’re think about Echoes expanded to the Nth degree you’ll be in the place where TD lives and works. Moog synthesizer, ARP 2600, early drum machines and some guitar give us all the bleeps and blurbs we could want. No real stand out tracks just start any (of the 4) tracks and let the electricity take you away.
Get comfy, dim the lights and hit play. Let Pink Floyd take you on a journey that is Wish You Were Here. Starts and ends with Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Going forward into Welcome To The Machine. Have A Cigar is all about the business of music. “Which one is Pink”! Mourning the loss of Syd Barrett. Ending back at Shine On (parts 6-9). This is a killer album with no skips. Block out the 45 minutes it takes to listen to this classic album. Enjoy!
