Frank at his most open, before things got hazier and more guarded. Feels like a whole world in one record, love, loss, growing up, all these little vignettes that add up to something bigger. Forrest Gump is sweet and kind of goofy in a way he doesn't really do again, but honestly almost every track could be a highlight, that's part of the problem picking favorites. Warm, detailed, patient in the storytelling, never rushes a feeling just to get to the next one. A record where the deep cuts hit just as hard as the singles.
