Yeah I’m late to this. I was pretty young when it came out but still. Another prime as a whole album it’s good. Not an absolute world beater as many would say but is a good full listen.

A debut that arrived fully formed and never really needed a follow up to prove itself. Guitar pop with a real swagger to it, jangly and melodic on the surface but there's a real groove underneath, dance rhythms sneaking into rock songs before that was really a thing. I Am the Resurrection and I Wanna Be Adored practically walk in the room like they own it, and the record backs up the confidence with actual songs, not just posturing. Feels like the blueprint a whole generation of British bands would spend the next decade copying. The rare debut that earns every bit of its legend.
